the tone of the author is so angry and over the top that i sympathize with the subjects. people do all sorts of irrational things to enrich their lives, i dont see how something as harmless as pushing dolls around in a stroller is anything special.

religion is far stranger and affects other people, having real kids and fucking them up is even worse, and women with 50 cats are terrifying. it seems like the author is just a pissy jerk.

i get that its weird. its really weird, but if i saw someone pushing a doll around, id think 'weirdo' then move on with my life, not go home and write an angry diatribe about how these women need to go have real babies or just be alone with their pets and stop living in a fantasy world. fuck that, the only difference between these women , people who buy sex toys, and people who play wow is the amount they spend.

in the end, fantasy is important to us, especially in a modern age where convenience has taken work and its inherent rewards out of much of our lives, we lok for rewarding feelings in other things. so we game, we write, we pretend, we do whatever makes us happy. thats what making life convenient was supposed to allow us to do, was have more time and money to spend on making ourselves happy.

@Susan - I gotta tease you cat lovers every once in awhile, lol. Sadly, the only cats I've been introduced to are the ones that want to kill me. My friend's cat (who wants to kill me, the cat not the friend)also says her kitty will get very insistent if she doesn't pay attention to her.

Yes, cats can be very affectionate. I have one that absolutely insists on laying on my pillow with her head on my shoulder. Sometimes I have to get up to go the the ladies' room and it's all I can do to get her off me. She's a sweetie, though.

I agree, the doll-thing for grown-ups is just odd. I wonder if these are the same women that went so crazy about the Cabbage Patch Dolls. Didn't they come with birth certificates and the company sent birthday cards?
